Hemp Shampoo Bar

I bought some products from Simply Peaceable after hearing J rave about it on her blog. Its an online shop that brings in a line of organic products from Australia. Bought 3 soaps as gifts and a shampoo bar for my own use. After finally finishing my shampoo, i used the Hemp Shampoo Bar for the first time today.

I had worries about using soap after not using it for so long. One thing I recalled was it usually had thick scum as a result of it being wet. Surprisingly, the soap bar did not form any scum. I'm not sure if its because today was the first use? Anyway, it took quite a while to work up any lather on the bar and i was beginning to despair, even contemplating to rub the bar on my head! After a while -- not that long la, i suppose it was about 1 minute? -- I managed to get quite a bit of lather up and to transfer it to my head. But once on my head, it worked up a very nice and dense lather. :) :) :) Really liked that part!

The lather felt different from the shampoo from the bottle. Its not so bubbly, but was a nice and firm lather. Huh??? You have to try it to understand fully what i mean. Suffice to say, i love the lather feel very much. Also, the wash really feels very clean, much like a clarifying shampoo. Luckily i didn't buy any clarifying shampoo. Guess this will do!

Apparently it will take a few washes before the full effects of the shampoo bar will be seen. Hmm, will wait for that too.

One thing i need to try is to use a vinegar rinse in place of conditioner. It sounds dubious, and i wonder if the vinegar rinse will condition my hair, but i suppose there's no harm in trying. I've already apple cider vinegar at home, so i'll just have to scrounge up a 2 litre bottle to do the mix for the rinse. But i must say, the thought of having to mix up the rinse every night is rather bothersome... The pamphlet that came with the bar said the vinegar smell will last only while my hair is wet. hmm...

Will post my review of the vinegar rinse once i try it. In the meantime, if you're interested in getting the shampoo bar or just visiting the website, please follow the links in the first paragraph. Don't worry, i don't get an commission so its my own review of the product i've used. Happy exploring! :)
