End of days?

Watching this show, ''Countdown to Armageddon'', on History Channel. Its a 2-hour show and although i'm not too much into literal readings, somehow i can't help but to wonder if the end is coming? I'm not looking for a 7-headed monster with 10 crowns to come out, but with the distraction of our lives and the dwindling population of the faithful, it is to me quite an accurate image. The 4 horsemen? Look at the increasing number of natural disasters. Look at the H1N1 flu. Does it mean that previously there was no such disasters? Perhaps its all the more in our minds because we are so connected nowadays by air travel, internet, phone etc. But it really gives me cause to pause...
