Life after Chernobyl

Animal Planet is screening this show, Spotlight Earth, and this episode is on life after Chernobyl.

I never really thought about it. I mean, after the nuclear fallout and the evacuation of the people and the area declared off limits, it sort of went to the back of my mind. But now, watching this show, it brings to mind that there doesn't seem to be an end. Thousands of years before the land recovers? But how about the migratory animals? It would move around, bringing their radioactive bodies around. So i suppose the recovery is provided there are no more wildlife. And there will be no end to the contamination.

In the end its the animals that suffer. sigh...
